About Us

My family has owned and managed Clandon Park Garden Centre, Guildford for over 20 years, since 2003. We were delighted to acquire our Woking site from Wyevale in July 2019. With two sites we decided to give one name across both. It was not hard to settle on Edwins, after my grandfather. He had a love of nature and a fascination with plants. He shared with me his amazement at the intricacies and complexity of plants, of their beauty and extraordinary artistic detail. He taught me how to care, nurture, feed them, to enjoy the work yet tranquility gardening offered. He used to say, “Nature is truly amazing. Take time to watch it grow and enjoy its delights”. He was thrilled that I studied at Imperial College, Wye. He would be happy to know that I married Nicola, a horticulturist, and am working in the world of plants with my wife, my parents, (Grandpa’s daughter Sue, and son-in-law Robert) and Nicola’s parents (Jose and Andrew).

Our desire is to offer the Surrey communities, and visitors to the area, an enjoyable experience shopping for garden plants, shrubs, house plants and all things gardening, with outdoor living and home accessories that extend life into the garden, whatever the weather! Our staff are knowledgeable and keen to share their expertise.

We pride ourselves on the quality of our plants, which you will find in abundance at both sites although our stock varies across the two centres. Larger stock items, such as barbecues, fire pits, and garden furniture are only available at Woking and our online web shop.

Grandpa always loved sitting among his plants enjoying a cuppa and piece of cake or scone. Edwins’ garden centres would not be complete without the opportunity to sit among plants and flowers for a drink and whatever suits your mood or time of day. Both sites have indoor and outdoor seating, serve breakfast, brunch, lunch and afternoon tea. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating areas. Assistance dogs are allowed in the indoor coffee shops.

We would like to thank all our customers for their support. We have much to do to make Edwins’ garden centres and coffee shops better and better, and hope each time you visit you find improvements and new, exciting offers.
